Idaho Commission for Libraries – ABLE and Library Learning Programs

ABLE is Idaho's Alternative Basic Library Education Program. It was designed to help library staff members who have no formal education in library science to acquire the basic knowledge and skills needed to operate or work in a library. Library Learning Online (previously known as SABLE) offers self-paced learning to expand the knowledge and skills of library staff on topics for today’s libraries.

Texas State Library & Archives Commission Online Courses

Texas offers all library staff the opportunity to take self-paced, online courses on a variety of library topics through their Online Training site. Although the majority of the offerings are short online course versions of their archived webinars, they do offer several full-fledged courses on topics ranging from youth services to technology to reference.

WebJunction offers library-specific courses and webinar recordings that are available to all library workers and volunteers.

Amigos Library Services

Amigos Library Services training courses cover an array of topics important to libraries: from OCLC to digitization, and reference and technical services, to management and technology.

Infopeople

Infopeople is part of the Califa Group, a nonprofit consortium of more than 230 libraries committed to unleashing the impact of libraries. Infopeople provides library staff quality continuing education opportunities that are tailored to library needs and developed by experienced library professionals. Training formats include 2-6 week asynchronous online courses, as well as free one-hour webinars.

Library Journal

Library Journal and School Library Journal offer interactive multi-session, online courses that help library staff at all levels learn essential skills, solve problems unique to their libraries, and put strategic plans into action.

Library Juice Academy

Library Juice Academy offers online professional development workshops for library staff, focusing on practical topics to build new skills. Workshops are taught asynchronously, so you can participate as your own schedule allows, within a four or six-week period.

Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS)

Midwest Collaborative for Library Services provides cataloging workshops and tutorials on workplace skills.

Northern Kentucky University Library Career Development Continuing Education

Northern Kentucky University offers a variety of online workshops, many of which are self-paced and accessible 24/7. Workshops are offered in every area of library programming and services, and are led by library educators and active practitioners.

University of Wisconsin-Madison's SLIS Continuing Education Opportunities
