KTBL patrons have access to a variety of programs and events designed to enrich the patron experience and provide support using the service.
KTBL Book Club
The KTBL Book Club meets once a month and discusses a variety of adult fiction and nonfiction titles. Meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month at 3:30 PM Eastern Time. The Book Club is available to KTBL patrons. We host it on Zoom, which you can access on the internet or by calling a toll-free number. NLS Summer Reading
KTBL participates in the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) Summer Reading Program every year. You can find a wide variety of book recommendations, activities, and virtual programming on their website: NLS Summer Reading.
The Many Faces of BARD
NLS offers The Many Faces of BARD virtual event on the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Each monthly event covers one aspect of the Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) service and is open to all. Learn more: The Many Faces of BARD.
Quarterly Patron Corner

That All May eRead
NLS offers the That All May eRead virtual event on the last Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. The program focuses on using the NLS Braille eReaders. Each session begins with a brief demonstration of a feature or use case. The rest of the hour is spent answering patron questions about any aspect of the Zoomax or HumanWare Braille eReaders. Music Notes from the Music Section
The NLS Music Section has a blog on the Library of Congress website called NLS Music Notes. The blog highlights the NLS music collection, presents newly added titles, profiles musicians who are blind or visually impaired, and features braille music transcribers and their work, along with a variety of related music topics and activities.
