KDLA supports public librarians by providing training, consultation, and other resources relating to the use of technology in libraries.

E-rate

E-rate funds provide discounted Internet access and subs​idize the cost of eligible network equipment for public libraries.  KDLA offers E-rate training and one-on-one assistance for all aspects of the application cycle.

Technology Planning

KDLA provides a technology plan template that meets the Essential level of the Kentucky Public Library Standards.  KDLA can review plans, including ones created with other templates, for compliance with technology plan requirements included in the Standards.

KDLA hosts free webinars on technology topics throughout the year and provides continuing education opportunities for public library staff to attend online courses and workshops presented by library science professionals.

KYTECH LISTSERV®

KYTECH is a monitored discussion list devoted to Kentucky public library staff who work with technology. By using this LISTSERV®, individuals from around the state will have the chance to ask questions, share ideas, voice concerns, and make valuable contacts all through their e-mail.
