Library Leadership Institute 2010
The Institute sets out to assist in preparing library directors and those who aspire to be directors to provide the highest quality of library services to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
A preliminary agenda for the institute is available (PDF, 41 KB).
After each two day session, there will be a homework assignment. Each assignment will be associated with a topic that the participants learned during the session. These assignments could involve participation from other staff members and members of the community. These assignments are a requirement of the Institute. Time will be set aside on the first day of each new session to get reacquainted and discuss the homework assignment.
Each assignment will build up to the final project. The final project will be to introduce a new service that will show how the participants’ libraries are becoming more responsive to community needs.
The Institute is open to directors with less than 10 years of library management experience and those in management positions who aspire to be directors.
There is no registration fee. However, participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.
The deadline for applications is March 19, 2010 (postmark).
