Youth Book Discussion Kits

Youth Book Discussion Kits are complete programs designed around high quality books for children and young adults.

  • Each kit include 12-20 copies of the book, an audiobook if available, and an in-depth discussion guide.

  • Up to five kits may be checked out for nine weeks and may be renewed for an additional two weeks upon availability.

  • Kits will be delivered by the KYVL courier service.

  • All kits are listed in KDLA Catalog. Reservations can be made by using the KDLA Kit Request Form or by contacting KDLA's Reference Desk at 502.564.8306 or 800.928.7000.

  • Please include alternate titles and/or dates in case the specific kit requested is unavailable.

  • Book discussion kits can be reserved up to a year in advance.

Kentucky Bluegrass Award (KBA) Kits

These book discussion kits are collections of books from the Kentucky Bluegrass Award program, designed to encourage diverse reading among students. Titles are selected annually in collaboration by Kentucky teachers and public librarians, and voted on by Kentucky children and students.

Read the Book! See the Movie!

Create a program that emphasizes the "book into a movie" theme. Before you make the popcorn, be sure the movie you selected has a public performance right agreement in place before it is shown to a group in your library.
