District Description Filing

By August 31 of every year all special taxing districts are required to file the following information with the County Clerk:  the District name, statutory authority, and the names and addresses of board members and the CEO (library director), and the expiration dates of the board members’ terms of office.

The Dept. for Local Government provides a form, LF 2003 for filing this report.  The library is also required to publish in the local newspaper, the names and addresses of the members of its library board members and the library director, and either a summary financial statement, which includes the location of supporting documents, or the location of district financial records which may be examined by the public [KRS 65.070(1)].
