The Library's Website

The library’s website is a vital communication tool.  Many patrons visit the library for the first time online.

According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, 70% of adults have high-speed broadband at home, and 56% own smartphones.  As library patrons spend more time online, they develop expectations of easily navigable websites.  Corporations typically invest heavily in website development and maintenance.  While libraries can rarely afford the same level of investment, there are many low-cost ways to achieve a good website.  This section will outline a few points to consider.
