Course Description

This one hour online training will present an in-depth look at ProQuest, one of the most comprehensive multidisciplinary databases available online. Access to over 10,000 publications including scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, trade publications, reports, and dissertations make this an invaluable resource. ProQuest also provides access to historical newspapers such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Chicago Tribune back to their beginnings in the 1800s. Multidisciplinary coverage in over 100 subject areas, guarantees that ProQuest will have quality information for use by every state government employee.

The training will include discussion of:

  • Content
  • Formats
  • Techniques for effective searching
  • Searching subject specific databases
  • Searching historical newspapers
  • Setting up personal accounts
  • Email alerts

KDLA offers these courses free to Kentucky State Employees.

Certificates of Training will be emailed to you following the session.

Delivery Method:

These hour long classes will be conducted online with iLinc web conferencing technology. Class participants will need access to the Internet and a telephone.
