U.S. Department of Agriculture (http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usdahome), provides information and links to the department’s agencies and offices, laws and regulations, research, and much more.

Integrated Taxonomic Information System (http://www.itis.gov) offers biological names and taxonomic information on plants, animals, fungi, and microbes of North America and the world.

National Agriculture Library (http://www.nal.usda.gov) features AGRICOLA, a catalog for agricultural data and a citation database for locating articles and other resources for locating agriculture data.

National Agricultural Statistics Service (http://www.nass.usda.gov) offers statistical reports on a wide range of topics, including crops, livestock, and industry trends. Also contains historical agricultural data.

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (http://www.ams.usda.gov) includes six commodity programs -- Cotton, Dairy, Fruit and Vegetable, Livestock and Seed, Poultry, and Tobacco, which provide standardization, granding and market news services for those commodities and also includes the Scinece and Technology Program and the Transportation and Marketing Program.

USDA Agricultural Research Service (http://www.ars.usda.gov/main/main.htm), the in-house scientific research arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The ARS finds solutions to agricultural problems that affect Americans every day from protecting crops and livestock from pests and disease to improving the quality and safety of agricultural products.

USDA Economic Research Service (http://www.ers.usda.gov) the main source of economic information and research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. ERS' program encompasses research, analyses of food and commodity markets, policy studies, and development of economic and statistical indicators.

USDA Economics and Statistics System (http://usda.mannlib.cornell.edu) contains nearly 300 reports and datasets from the economics agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These materials cover U.S. and international agriculture and related topics.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife (http://www.fws.gov) offers research, laws and regulations, and list of FWS publications at the Conservation Library (http://library.fws.gov).

USDA Forest Service (http://www.fs.fed.us) offers research, information on projects and policies, and TreeSearch (http://www.treesearch.fs.fed.us), a database for locating publications.

USDA National Nutrient Database (http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search), from the Agriculture Research Service provides nutrient information for over 7,300 foods.

USDA Plant Database (http://plants.usda.gov) provides information on plant characteristics and classification, specific information on states’ plants, allows users to download plant data, and more from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (http://www.nrcs.usda.gov).
