Ask a Librarian is for use by Kentucky State Government employees and staff of Kentucky Public Libraries needing assistance with in-depth research, quick reference, look-ups, lists of sources and information on Kentucky-related topics. All others should contact their local public library.

Kentucky Government Employee Information Request Form

This service is designed to assist state employees with questions related to their work, including in-depth research, reference look-up, requesting videos and DVDs, and obtaining materials from other libraries.

Kentucky Government Employee Materials Request Form

This form is no longer available. Requests from state employees for audiobooks and books from the KDLA collection may now be made directly through the Catalog. When you are searching the Catalog and find the record for the item you want, simply click on the "Make a Request" link on the right side of the page. You will be prompted to login, using your library account number and your last name. A form will appear allowing you to request that item and to indicate if you would like the item mailed to your work location or made available for pick-up.

State employees needing to request books from other libraries or articles from journals or newspapers, should use the Kentucky Government Employees Information Request Form.

Kentucky Public Library Information Request Form

This form is for use by the staff of Kentucky public libraries needing assistance with reference and professional consultation. Patrons who are not public librarians may request materials by contacting their local public library.

Kentucky Public Library Visual Materials/Kit Request Form

This service is designed to help Kentucky public librarians request or reserve the visual materials they need for programming or for their customers.

Kentucky State Publications Information Request Form

This service is designed to assist with requests for information about the Kentucky State Publications collection at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. The State Archives serves as the official archival repository for publications issued by Kentucky state government agencies. These records are stored in KDLA's secure archival facility and are available for public use on site at KDLA.
