More Than Words: Graphic Novels in Kentucky's Libraries

Graphic Novel Review: Peanutbutter & Jeremy’s
Best Book Ever!

Peanutbutter and Jeremy’s Best Book Ever! is a delightful romp through the world of Peanutbutter, a hardworking office cat and his very best fried, Jeremy the Crow. The four-legged office assistant is an adorable, conscientious kitty who works diligently for his “boss” while sleeping on top of files, knocking over telephones, and accidentally shredding reports. He’s also a sharp dresser and in each story sports a tie and hat.

The dapper feline’s assortment of hats is a source of irritation to Jeremy, who enjoys pilfering Peanutbutter’s haberdashery to furnish his own tree-top collection of head-gear. Contrasting with the overly sensitive cat, Jeremy is an obnoxious, self-absorbed braggart who creates havoc wherever he goes. Jeremy can be careless, insensitive and even downright mean, but hasn’t everyone had a friend with these same dubious qualities at some point in their lives?

This collection of nine short stories will be appreciated by all ages. The language and graphics are simple enough for children, but don’t deprive adults (especially cat lovers) of the fun this compilation has to offer anyone needing a good chuckle.
