Digital images originating from KDLA's collections qualify as public domain and as such have no copyright restrictions. However, KDLA asks that images be cited with KDLA as the source:

Digital images used by KDLA from the Kentuckiana Digital Library are used according to the guidelines set by KDL and/or the providing repository. Many items offered by the KDL may be protected by the U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S.C.).
