Group Tour Applications
The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives welcomes tour groups. These guidelines will help you when planning your tour.
Note to Research Groups: Groups planning a visit to use the State Archives collections are encouraged to contact the Archives Research Room (ext. 347) before arrival. Research archivists may be available to speak to groups regarding use of the collections, indexes, and electronic resources. If the group has a special area or topic of study, staff will be able to prepare more effectively if notified of the group's arrival ahead of time. Staffing constraints may limit the amount of time and availability of research archivists to assist your group.
KDLA is located at 300 Coffee Tree Road, adjacent to the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Tours are given between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday, excepting state government holidays and scheduled agency events. There are no fees for these tours.
Please submit the Tour Application at least two weeks prior to your desired tour date. Once the application is received, the tour coordinator will contact you to make the final arrangements. If your group needs special assistance, please let the tour coordinator know before scheduling the tour.
Your tour interests (see the Application for a description of tours offered) will determine the amount of time you spend at KDLA. The Questionnaire asks for the maximum time available for your group's visit, so your time at KDLA is spent to the best advantage.
Your group will be sharing the public areas of KDLA with other library and archives patrons, so appropriate behavior is appreciated from all tour members.
