Is my family listed in the Kentucky Files?

Probably not. The KY Files only contain only clippings about prominent Kentuckians. Unless your relative is a famous (or infamous) public figure, they are most likely not listed in the KY Files.

The Kentucky Files

The Kentucky Files are a collection of newspaper clippings, press releases, brochures and other informational items on a wide variety of Kentucky related topics that have been collected by the State Library staff and arranged by subject.

The Kentucky Files may be examined at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives at 300 Coffee Tree Road, Frankfort, KY. Mon. - Fri., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Copy machines are available.

Because of the size of most files librarians will select the best resources to answer specific questions. Requests for copies of "everything" on a topic cannot be accommodated.
